²⁰ ·They may be in such pain that they even hate [^LTheir lives loathe] food,
    even ·the very best meal [choice food].
²¹ ·Their body becomes so thin [^LTheir flesh wastes away so that] ·there is almost nothing left of it [^Lit cannot be seen],
    and their bones that were hidden now stick out.
²² ·They are [^LTheir souls draw] near ·death [^Lthe Pit; 33:18],
    and their life ·is almost over [^Lcomes near those who bring death].
